Description:
Located on steep slopes above the church of Ribeauvillé, this Grand Cru, which faces south and south-west benefits from excellent sunshine on very stony clay soils. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The wines ferment under temperature control at around 21°-22°, then are aged on fine lees for 6 to 8 months. After filtration, the wines are bottled and aged in our cellars for few years before been marketed. Deep, golden colour. Typical smoky notes underlined by a hint of candied fig aromas. Full-bodied, structured, with a well-balanced and long finish. Serve between 10 and 12°C. If possible, decant an hour before serving to allow the aromas to open up. Delicious as an aperitif, with foie gras, game, soft cheeses, and Asian cuisine. An excellent wine to enjoy today and for laying down, over 10 years.
